Global Youth Initiative

Welcome to the John Maxwell Global Youth Initiative, a community dedicated to empowering young people to become the next generation of leaders. We offer a range of programs and services designed to help young adults unlock their full potential and positively impact the world. GYI is hosted during the months of April and October of each year.

Today’s youth face many challenges – struggles with confidence, fear of failure, bullying, lack of motivation, lack of soft skills, and many others. As a parents, teachers, and leaders we can do something about it!

Youth Impact Exploratory Report assessment will help teens get insight into their unique way of working with others. Knowing more about yourself makes it easier to communicate with your friends, parents, teachers, and other adults. When students complete the assessment, they’ll also see a short list of careers that may fit well with their personality style… something to consider as they plan their future.

If your own or friends’ or community children belong to 10 – 16 year group and interested in learning about the leadership skills, please register for the free event and join the worldwide movement to create leaders of tomorrow. Once you have registered for the event, the link to the virtual meeting or the venue for the in-person will be shared closer to the time. 

A GYI session lasts for 2 to 3 hrs. Can serve any number of children for example from anywhere between 8 children to 50 or 60 children. A typical session has the following agenda. The facilitator must be a Maxwell Leadership Certified Team Member.

1. Facilitator welcomes the children
2. Children introduce themselves
3. Facilitator shares one or few of the iChoose Youth Program Lessons
4. Lessons such as choices, attitude, commitment, relationships, priority, character, forgiveness, responsibility, initiative, courage, self discipline, etc.
5. Facilitator introduces the Youth Impact Exploratory Report assessment
6. Children perform the assessment
7. Facilitator debriefs the assessment results
8. Session ends and facilitator issues the certificate of participation
